Bajaj has recently updated the Pulsar NS160 and Pulsar NS200 for the Indian market. This means that Bajaj Auto plans to continue the NS lineup with the new generation of Pulsars. One of the main competitors of the Pulsar NS160 is the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. So this is how the two motorcycles clash with each other.

Bajaj did not update the design of the Pulsar NS160. It still retains its aggressive, naked Street Fighter design. However, for 2023, the NS160 will be sold in a new Ebony Black paint scheme. On the other hand, the Apache RTR 160 4V also has a blatant street fighter design, but it’s not as aggressive as the Pulsar. Also, it does look more modern thanks to the LED lighting.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 produces 17.03 bhp and 14.6 Nm. On the other hand, the engine of the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V produces 17.31 bhp and 14.73 Nm in sport mode. Both motorcycles are oil cooled and have a 5-speed gearbox. The Apache produces 15.42 bhp and 14.14 Nm when using city and rain modes.

In terms of functionality, the Pulsar’s semi-digital instrument cluster can now display an empty distance readout, instantaneous fuel economy, gear indicator and average fuel economy. There is also a side bracket cut off. However, motorcycle headlights and turn indicators still use halogen lamps. Additionally, dual-channel ABS is also available.

The Apache RTR 160 4V features LED Lighting, Riding Modes, Single Channel ABS, Glide Through Technology, Fully Digital Instrument Cluster, Bluetooth Connectivity and Feather Touch Start.

The Pulsar NS160 now comes with 33mm upside-down forks and a rear monoshock. The perimeter frame of the motorcycle has not changed. Braking duties are performed by 300 mm discs at the front and 230 mm discs at the rear.

The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V uses a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. It uses a dual cradle chassis. Braking duties are handled by the 270 mm petal discs at the front. Depending on the model, at the rear there is either a 130mm drum brake or a 200mm petal disc brake.
