2023 Kia EV6 bookings open in India from April 15, expands to 44 cities

Kia India will start ordering the 2023 EV6 from April 15, 2023, the company has announced. Prices for the 2023 Kia EV6 start from ¥6.095 million for the GT line and ¥GT Line AWD (ex-showroom, India) at 6.595 lakh, unchanged for 2023 edition.Compared with the listed price, the price of EV6 in January this year has increased ¥100,000.

The Kia EV6 was launched in India in June last year and the manufacturer said the response was overwhelming with 432 deliveries of the model in the past seven months. This is four times the planned sales in the Indian market. Kia said it will increase the EV6’s quota in the Indian market this year as it aims to fulfill existing orders as well as new orders for premium electric products. In addition, the South Korean auto giant expanded its dealer network to 60 outlets in 44 cities from 15 outlets in 12 cities last year. The automaker also plans to expand its network of 150 kW high-speed chargers to all 60 outlets.

The Kia EV6 is based on Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), shared with the Hyundai Ioniq 5. The EV6 arrives in India as a complete unit (CBU) and is loaded on a functional front end. This includes fast DC charging, vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, 14-speaker Meridian sound system, ADAS, connected car technology, curved digital consoles and more.

Power for the 2023 Kia EV6 comes from a single PMS electric motor producing 226 bhp and 350 Nm on the GT Line, while the GT Line AWD gets twin electric motors producing 320 bhp and 605 Nm of peak torque. The all-electric offering can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 5.2 seconds on GT Line AWD. The EV6 promises a range of 708 km (ARAI certified) from its 77.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

The 2023 Kia EV6 will be available in five colors — Runway Red, Yachting Blue, Moonscape, Aurora Black Pearl, and Snow White Pearl. It takes the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Volvo XC40 Recharge, BMW i4, and others in the same price range.
