KTM has shown the 2023 790 Adventure around the world, and it’s been updated quite a bit. The 790 Adventure also received several engine changes, along with new color schemes and features. The 790 Adventure will now be produced in China by KTM’s partner Chunfeng Motors. The process will be overseen by KTM employees deployed at the Chinese factory. It is highly unlikely that KTM will offer the 790 Adventure in the Indian market as the manufacturer has been absent from the middleweight segment since they discontinued the 790 Duke.
The bodywork of the motorcycle has been updated with a larger fairing and the windshield has been made larger to provide the rider with better protection from the wind. The lighting is full LED, and the instrument cluster has a brighter 5-inch TFT screen and an ambient light sensor. The user interface has also been redesigned, featuring a new menu system and infographics. KTM says this will help navigate the user interface faster. There’s also the KTMConnect app that provides turn-by-turn navigation and other information.

The tires are now from Pirelli and they are Scorpion STR tires with large tread blocks that are also off-road focused. Earlier, the motorcycle was fitted with Continental tires. KTM has also added a ‘demo’ feature to the 790 Adventure, so owners can try out the full range of optional riding extras for the first 1,500km before deciding which setup they want to buy and keep. Additionally, ABS automatically turns on or off when the rider changes riding modes.
The KTM 790 Adventure has a fuel tank capacity of 20 liters and a potential range of around 450 km. The motorcycle uses a split seat setup, but KTM offers integrated heated seats as PowerParts. The engine breathes better now thanks to the new airbox. The LC8c engine now develops a maximum power of 93 bhp and a peak torque of 88 Nm.
