Yamaha Motor India recently launched the 2023 FZS FI, which has undergone several upgrades to meet updated emission norms. The 2023 Yamaha FZS FI V4 Deluxe is now OBD 2 compliant to meet future specifications, and the company has added features to make it even more valuable.

Upgrades include an improved front design, new features and Bluetooth connectivity. Prices have also been increased for the updated FZS FI V4 Deluxe variant, which will be sold alongside the old FZS FI. Here are five things to know about the new FZS FI V4 Deluxe.

1. New LED headlights

Yamaha has introduced a new headlight cluster on the 2023 FZS FI V4. The unit gets a new vertical LED DRL and LED lighting, even though the indicator light continues to use the bulb. The rest of the design remains unchanged on the motorcycle, including the muscle tank, booster seat and stubby exhaust. The new FZS FI V4 Deluxe is available in three colors – Metallic Gray, Majesty Red and Metallic Black.

2. New Y-Connect mobile app

There’s also a new LCD console hidden behind a new flying screen. The console comes with a Bluetooth connection for the Y-Connect mobile app. The app displays incoming calls, text message alerts, notifications, remaining battery power of the smartphone, etc. on the LCD console. You also get vehicle telematics, vehicle tracking, geofencing, and more.

3. New traction control system

Yamaha introduced traction control to its 2023 motorcycle lineup, bringing an extra safety net to users. The new Yamaha FZS FI V4 also benefits from this. Yamaha says the traction control system controls ignition timing and fuel injection volume to regulate engine power delivery and avoid excessive slip. This ensures that idling on the motorcycle is minimized. This feature is also available on 2023 FZ-X, MT-15 V2, R15 and R15M motorcycles.

4. Familiar specifications

While the 2023 Yamaha FZS FI Deluxe variant gets many new features, it continues to use the same mechanicals. Power comes from a 149 cc single-cylinder fuel-injected electric motor tuned for 12.2 bhp and 13.3 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The bike uses a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear, while stopping power comes from disc brakes with single-channel ABS.

5. New price

2023 Yamaha FZS FI V4 price increments are ¥That’s 3,000 more than its predecessor.The upgrades do add cost and the model now retails for ¥127,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).That said, the standard FZ FI will continue to be available in ¥114,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is a whole ¥That compares to 13,000 cheaper.
