Porsche's electric SUV is scheduled to launch in 2027.
Porsche’s electric SUV is scheduled to launch in 2027.

The upcoming Porsche SUV will use the Volkswagen-owned car brand’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture and will be equipped with a 920-volt electrical system. Additionally, it is expected to offer an impressive range of 700 kilometers. The report claims that this upcoming Porsche EV will be a very sporty SUV, even with its big frame and seven-seat layout. The report hints that the SUV will be extremely capable off-road thanks to an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. The battery pack is expected to have a capacity of over 100 kWh. The battery pack will ensure Tesla Model X Plaid-like performance, with peak power in excess of 1,000 horsepower at handling and a 0-100 km/h sprint of 2.5 seconds.

When launched, the Porsche SUV will compete with rivals such as the Lamborghini Urus and Ferrari Purosangue. Additionally, the report says it will challenge the Mercedes EQS SUV and BMW iX. It will be the flagship SUV of the German brand and will boast a range of advanced battery technologies ensuring exceptional performance. The EV is said to have fast charging speeds and minimal degradation.

As part of the Volkswagen Group’s electrification strategy, Porsche is sparing no effort in developing its own fleet of electric vehicles. The car brand has already launched the Taycan EV, and it has gotten a good response. In addition to this, it is also developing the Macan EV that will go on sale in 2024. An all-electric Boxster/Cayman is also due around 2025, while an electric version of the Panamera is also planned. Porsche’s mid-size SUV, the Cayenne, is also expected to switch to electric vehicles by mid-2000s.
