Ather Energy appears to be working hard on expanding the 450 series and may be working on a new, more affordable version. Ather has trademarked the “450S” moniker, suggesting a new variant will join the lineup soon, possibly around the festive season. The Ather 450S will likely be positioned below the current 450X and may have fewer features in comparison. A smaller battery pack isn’t ruled out either.
The Ather 450S fills the void left by the recently discontinued Ather 450 Plus in the company’s lineup.More affordable variants not only promise larger quantities, but are better able to meet ¥According to the 150,000 (ex-factory) pricing threshold set by the FAME II policy, the subsidy can be obtained.

The upcoming Ather 450S may offer fewer colors, tech, and possibly a smaller battery pack
Currently, Ather Energy retails the 450X in two models – a standard and a professional.The former only gets pricing for ¥115k (ex-showroom, Bangalore) but with the same hardware and battery size.Meanwhile, the 450X Pro package has all the extras for a price of ¥145k (ex-showroom, Bangalore) is a good ¥Thirty thousand more expensive. The new price includes the bundled charger and is eligible for the FAME II subsidy.
Details about the upcoming Ather 450S are still under wraps for now, but the model may offer fewer features and may come with a smaller battery like the Ola S1 series. This will also help the model price the electric scooter more attractively. While we don’t expect any major styling changes to the electric scooter, Ather may limit the number of color options available on the 450S to keep the Pro kit unique.

The Ather 450S will likely be available around the holidays, which should keep the sales numbers in the green. The more affordable version will also help drive higher footfall at showrooms across the country.
