Shekhar Suman, popular for decades for his performances and hosting shows, has become one of the first celebrities in the country to receive an all-electric BMW i7 limousine. The actor gifted wife Alka a sleek new car for their wedding anniversary. He and his son Adhyayan Suman posted pictures of their new prized possession on social media.
The BMW i7, the Bavarian automaker’s new flagship luxury sedan, was launched earlier this year with prices starting at ¥19.5 million (ex-showroom). The i7 shares its underpinnings with the new-generation BMW 7 Series, and both models are based on the CLAR platform. The i7 marks a major design change from the previous-generation 7 Series, with a bold front end including split headlights and a new large kidney grille design.

The big update this time comes in the cabin, which is more luxurious this time around, with an optional 31.3-inch 8K Cinema Screen display for rear passengers. The feature list also includes a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment display and a 12.3-inch digital instrument console, both of which are part of a larger curved display on the dash.
The seats in the BMW i7 are upholstered in the finest leather and the sedan is equipped with a 1965 watt Bowers & Wilkins sound system for an excellent audio experience. The rear doors feature 5.5-inch touchscreens to operate the infotainment system, while the rear seats feature reclining and massaging functions as well as self-closing doors, a panoramic glass roof, cloud-based navigation, and more.
Power for the BMW i7 comes from a 101.7 kWh battery pack with a range of 625 kilometers (WLTP cycle) on a single charge. The electric motor in the BMW i7 xDrive60 delivers 536 bhp and 745 Nm of peak torque. The car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 240 km/h. The i7 primarily competes with the Mercedes-Benz EQS in this segment.
