Ather Energy reported that they shipped 12,147 units of the Ather 450 series in February 2023. They reported a 495% year-over-year increase. The electric two-wheeler maker’s market share grew to 15.5% nationally, with a 21% share in markets where Ather has a retail presence. In February, Ather integrated 6 new experience centers, bringing the total number of experience centers to 108. The brand currently operates in 81 cities.
The brand also achieved some milestones in February. They delivered their 100,000th car to a customer, opened their 100th Experience Center and installed their 1000th Ather Grid in India. Ather Grid is one of the fastest growing charging infrastructure in the Indian market. Ather already has more than 1000 fast chargers in India and they plan to increase this number to more than 2500 by the end of 2023. Limited charging stations are one of the main reasons people are hesitant to transition to electric vehicles.
Ather Energy is currently working on bringing more features to its electric scooters 450 Plus and 450X. These upcoming features will be cruise control, crawl control and advanced regeneration. As of now, the brand has not shared any timeline nor provided an update for Atherstack 5.0.

Speaking of Atherstack 5.0, it’s the software that runs on Ather Energy’s electric scooters. With the update, the brand has improved the user interface and added new features. New features now available are new vector maps with a mobile phone-like user interface. As mentioned above, there’s a new UI that Ather calls “Wings of Power.” It now relies more on swiping than tapping. The biggest feature brought by Atherstack 5.0 is AutoHold. This feature secures the scooter on slopes without the rider having to constantly apply the brakes. AutoHold will not make the electric scooter roll forward or backward on slopes. AutoHold only works on Gen3 scooters.
