This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Audi TT, which was first launched in 1998. However, the celebrations will be mixed.

Audi plans to end production of the TT Coupe and Roadster models later this year and introduce a fully loaded Final Edition.

Available in both closed and convertible form, buyers can choose an engine – including the powerful TTS. All versions boast extensive standard specifications.

One style icon in the end

Final Edition models wear a black styling package with Audi badging, mirrors, exhaust tips and rear spoiler black treat. Buyers can choose from Tango Red, Glacier White or Chronos Gray paint, and 20-inch alloy wheels are standard.

Inside, door armrests, pull handles and center console trim are finished in leather. The steering wheel and sports seats are in Alcantara with sporty red stitching. There are more red details on the air vents, center console and floor mats.

All models come with Audi’s MMI Navigation Plus infotainment setup. Opting for the TTS Final Edition adds a Bang & Olufsen audio system, parking sensors, and a backup camera.

The TT debuted as a Bauhaus-style concept car at the 1995 Frankfurt Motor Show, and was subsequently mass-produced in 1998. Due to a series of high-speed accidents, Audi was forced to add a rear spoiler shortly after its introduction.

Despite the poor start, TT established itself as a fashion icon. Both the Coupe and the Roadster attracted plenty of buyers, and performance models soon joined the lineup.

The second generation of the TT was launched in 2006, including the supercar-chasing 340hp TTRS. Launched in 2014, the current third-generation TT continues to combine speed with style.

The UK has been TT’s key market, accounting for a third of total global sales in 2022. The TT Final Edition costs £41,910 and goes on sale from March 2023.
