Hyundai Ioniq 5

One of the most exciting products at the Hyundai pavilion at Auto Expo 2023 is the Ioniq 5, which will be introduced to the Indian market in 2023 ¥4.495 million (ex-showroom). The EV joins its Indian sibling, the Hyundai Kona electric, as the automaker’s second pure electric offering in the country. The car is based on Hyundai Group’s same Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which also underpins the Kia EV6. The modern Ioniq 5 is built around the Sensuous Sportiness design concept, with a rounded exterior that looks sporty and fluid. It features design elements such as parametric pixel LED headlights and taillights, a flip-up bonnet, automatic flush door handles, and active aero alloy wheels. This EV offers three exterior paint theme options – Gravity Gold Matte, Optical White, and Midnight Black Pearl.

Tata Harrier EV

Tata Motors showed three concept cars, two of which are electric utility vehicles. However, the Tata Avinya shown at the 2023 Auto Expo has actually been leaked online earlier. So it’s not surprising. But Tata reserved the wow factor for the Harrier EV, which broke cover at the event. The Tata Harrier EV previewed an all-electric iteration of the SUV, which is already available in India in a fossil fuel-powered form. The Tata Harrier EV has a radically different design that makes it distinctive compared to internal combustion engine-powered SUVs. The Harrier EV is scheduled to launch in India in 2024.

Maruti Suzuki eVX Concept

Maruti Suzuki has showcased several intriguing models at the Auto Expo, one of which is sure to be the eVX Concept, which breaks the cover as an all-new vehicle. The Maruti Suzuki eVX concept previews an all-electric compact SUV that could challenge the Tata Punch EV if it becomes a reality. Also, this looks like a potential competitor to the Mahinda eKUV100. Designed with automaker Imaginext in mind, the eVX looks sleek, with sharp character lines, flat panels, LED lights and more. Skid plates, sport wheels, flared fenders, and side sills jazz up the Concept EV.

Kia EV9 concept car

Kia Motors India has showcased the much-anticipated EV9 concept at Auto Expo 2023. The electric concept SUV debuts with sharp silhouettes and front and rear LED lighting. The Kia EV9 concept car claims to have previewed the South Korean auto giant’s future design philosophy, which will be incorporated into all upcoming electric SUVs from the Hyundai Group’s car brand. The electric SUV, which rivals the Audi e-Tron and Mercedes EQS, will be positioned in the D2 segment. It has features like three rows of seating, roof solar panels (which increase range without having to recharge the battery), a pop-up steering wheel, and a huge 27-inch touchscreen display. However, it’s unlikely that all of these features will be available in a production model. It also features suicide doors, a panoramic sunroof, and sustainable materials on the seats and upholstery.

Toyota bZ4X

Toyota showed off its first all-electric vehicle, the bZ4X, at the 2023 Auto Expo, and it looks absolutely cool. The car is also the first model in the automaker’s bZ series of electric vehicles, which consists of seven models, including the new b3ZX, which has already been unveiled in China. Based on the dedicated platform for electric vehicles based on the Toyota e-TNGA architecture, the Toyota bZ4X has a large number of cuts and creases, which appear very sharp and sporty in terms of visual aesthetics. Even more interesting, the production-spec Toyota bZ4X’s styling looks closer to the concept version it was shown before. The car features design elements such as connected LED headlights and taillights, giving it a modern look. Body cladding adds muscularity to the overall visual appearance. The car is available in single and dual motor configurations with a powerful 71.4 kWh battery pack.
