Bajaj Avenger Street 220 is about to relaunch

Unlike the Cruise 220, the Bajaj Avenger Street 220 has a simpler exterior with fewer chrome elements. Styling is the same as the Street 160, including round headlamps, blacked-out engine, fork shrouds, black alloy wheels and smaller rear seatbacks. The Street 220 also features a small windshield and a flat handlebar, compared to the Cruise 220’s tall windshield and raised handlebar.

The Bajaj Avenger Street 220 will be powered by the familiar 220 cc single cylinder engine that was recently updated for the Cruise 220. It’s the same engine found on the recently revived Bajaj Pulsar 220F. The electric motor produces 18.7 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 17.5 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. The motor is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. It was recently updated to meet the latest BS6 Stage 2 emission standards.

The bike sports a telescoping fork and dual shocks at the rear, while stopping power comes from disc brakes up front and drum brakes in the rear. The model will come standard with single-channel ABS.

The specifications of the Avenger Street 220 and Cruise 220 are the same, and barring styling changes, there are no major differences between the two models.Street 220 has traditionally been the more affordable version, perhaps priced less than ¥140,000 (ex-showroom) mark on 220th Street.
