Baja Auto has launched the India-made Dominar 400 and Dominar 250 motorcycles in Malaysia at the Malaysia Motor Show 2023. The Modenas Dominar 400 sold in Malaysia comes standard with a range of accessories that make this model even more travel friendly

The collaboration includes not only retailing of Bajaj motorcycles in Malaysia, but also technical exchanges between the two-wheeler manufacturers. Bajaj exports the Dominar 400 and 250 as complete knockdown (CKD) kits from its factory in India to Malaysia, where they are assembled locally at its Modenas factory in the Southeast Asian country.

Apart from the new branding, the Dominar 400 and 250 in Malaysia are identical to the models sold in India. That said, the Modenas Dominar 400 does come with some factory-installed touring accessories, including high sun visors, rear seat backs, hand guards, USB charging, and a luggage rack. The engine gets a fender as well as an integrated metal skid plate, a new shin guard and saddle stays.

Power for the Dominar 400 comes from the familiar 373.3 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine delivering 39 bhp at 8,650 rpm and peak torque of 35 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The Dominar 250, meanwhile, features a 250 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor that delivers 27 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 23.5 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. Both bikes come standard with dual-channel ABS, while the rest of the hardware has carried over.

Color options for the Modenas Dominar 400 include Savannah Green and Carbon Black, while the Dominar 250 is available in Red and Black. Dominar 400 prices in Malaysia start from ¥RM15,797 (approx. ¥290,000), while the more affordable Dominar 250 is priced at RM13,797 (approximately ¥253,000).
