French auto giant Citroen on February 27 launched its first electric car, the E-C3, to be produced in India for the global market. The E-C3 electric hatchback is available in four trims, starting at ¥1.15 million (ex-showroom). When Citroen launched the E-C3 earlier this year, it was touted as a rival to India’s most affordable electric car, the Tata Tiago EV. However, with its pricing, the E-C3 is more likely to clash with Tata’s electric sedan, the Tigor EV. Here is a quick comparison between Citroen and Tata EVs based on price, features offered, range and more.
Citroen E-C3 vs Tata Tigor EV: Features
The French auto giant’s electric hatchback looks like an SUV but lacks the features offered by its rivals. The E-C3 offers features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and more than 35 connected car functions. Citroen also offers features like front dash cam, reversing camera, air purifier, front fog lamps, dual USB charging ports as part of the non-standard accessories package.
While the Tata Tigor EV has most of these features, it also offers several other features that the French EV doesn’t, even in its accessories package. These include Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), auto-dimming IRVM, auto-folding ORVM, automatic climate control, cruise control, auto-projector headlights, rain-sensing wipers, rear armrest, leather seats, and more.

It takes 10.5 hours to charge the battery pack from 10% to 100% using a 15A power outlet. The Tata Tigor EV takes about the same amount of time to charge from 10-80% using a DC fast charger.
