Citroen eC3 revealed closer to launch, pre-orders start January 22

Citroen has launched its first all-electric vehicle, the eC3, for the Indian market. before the imminent launch. Reservations for the Citroen eC3 EV will open on January 22. While this is an all-electric iteration of the C3 crossover, the EV looks identical to the car’s internal combustion engine variant. When launched, it will be the third model launched by the French automaker in India after the C5 Aircross and C3.

Estimated price approx. ¥900,000, the Citroen eC3 will pose a serious challenge to competitors such as Tata Nexon EV, Tata Tigor EV and Tata Tiago EV. The EV will be offered in two trim options – Live and Feel.

The Citroen eC3 is powered by a 29.2 kWh battery pack and an electric motor that produces a peak power of 57 PS and a maximum torque of 143 Nm. The eC3 can accelerate from 0-60 km/h in 6.8 seconds with a top speed of 107 km/h. The battery pack supports DC fast charging and can be charged from 10-80% in 57 minutes. It takes 10.5 hours to charge the battery pack from 10% to 100% using a 15A power outlet.

Design-wise, the Citroen eC3 looks identical to the combustion-engine-powered version of the C3 crossover. Even the EV’s front fascia carries over, rather than the enclosed grille common in most EVs. Other design elements include chrome accents on the front grille, thick black cladding on the side profile, sporty alloy wheels and more.

Inside the eC3’s cabin, the EV gets a three-spoke flat-bottomed multifunction steering wheel, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. In addition, the infotainment system has more than 35 connected car functions. The car is also equipped with a height-adjustable driver’s seat.
