Ducati Monster SP priced at Rs 1.595 lakh: Will rival Triumph Street Triple R

Ducati India has launched the Monster SP in the Indian market. It’s a more track-focused top-of-the-line Ducati monster. The Ducati Monster SP is priced at ¥1.595 million, ex-showroom, India. Resellers are already accepting pre-orders, and deliveries will begin immediately. The Ducati Monster SP will go up against the Kawasaki Z900, Triumph Street Triple R and BMW F900R.

Powering the Monster SP is Ducati’s Testastretta 11° engine. It’s a liquid-cooled 4-valve twin with chain distribution. It develops 111 hp at 9,250 rpm and peak torque of 93 Nm at 6,500 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission that also has a slipper clutch and quick shifters.

Ducati equipped the Monster SP with fully adjustable 43 mm diameter Öhlins upside-down forks at the front and fully adjustable Öhlins shocks at the rear. The motorcycle is equipped with an aluminum swingarm, steering damper and Termignoni silencers.

In terms of functions, there is a 4.3-inch color TFT instrument panel, three-level cornering ABS, three driving modes, eight-level DTC, four-level DWC and three-level adjustable launch control.

At 186kg, the Ducati Monster SP is 2kg lighter than the standard version. To save weight, Ducati used lighter front brakes and a lithium-ion battery. Additionally, the Öhlins suspension setup also contributes to the weight savings.
