Liger Mobility will unveil the world’s first self-balancing electric scooter at Auto Expo 2023. The homegrown e-mobility startup claims that its upcoming e-scooters can balance independently without the help of any side or center kickstands. Mumbai-based Liger Mobility has already launched electric scooters in 2019 that support self-balancing and self-parking technologies. However, this is a pre-production prototype and the model that will be shown at the upcoming 2023 Auto Expo is ready for production. HT Auto gained exclusive access to photos of the scooter ahead of its Auto Expo unveiling.

The Self Balancing Liger Electric Scooter combines retro style with modern features. At first glance, it appears to be influenced by classic Vespa designs. However, unique styling elements are clearly visible. At the front, the scooter has a triangular-shaped LED headlamp on the front apron, while a sleek horizontal LED daytime running light (DRL) tops it. The front cowl also houses circular LED turn indicators.

Other configurations of Liger self-balancing electric scooter include fully digital instrument panel, large and comfortable seat, rear armrest, LED taillight, front telescopic suspension, etc. While the e-scooters have yet to be revealed, one of them will be matte red. It runs on alloy wheels wrapped in fleshy rubber. For braking duties, the front wheels are equipped with disc brakes, while the rear wheels are equipped with drum brakes.

The manufacturer claims that this electric scooter is powered by a revolutionary technology developed in-house in India. The technology is said to significantly improve rider safety on electric scooters, while ensuring better rider comfort and convenience compared to any other conventional scooter.
