Bengaluru-based EV startup Pravaig Dynamics will take the wraps off its first electric SUV, the Defy, later this month. The premium electric SUV is expected to have a range of more than 500 kilometers and will be available in 11 different exterior color options. In the latest teaser, Pravaig revealed all the colors of the Defy EV when it debuts on November 25. Pravaig has revealed key performance statistics for the Defy electric SUV, which it calls the “flagship killer”, ahead of the expected launch. Preorders for the EV will start on November 25th.
Pravaig will offer 11 colors for the Defy EV including Bordeaux, Lithium, Imperial Purple, Siachen Blue, Indigo, Moon Grey, Hardi Yellow, 5.56 Green, Shani Black, Kaziranga Green and Vermilion. Pravaig also got a glimpse of the SUV in all colors to see how they will appear in various colors. The electric SUV will likely offer a two-tone exterior theme, with all models getting a blacked-out roof.
Pravaig revealed that the Defy electric SUV can provide a range of 504 kilometers on a single charge. This could make it one of the longest-range EVs in India. The battery will be able to charge to 80% in just 30 minutes. That means the electric SUV is indeed equipped with DC fast charging. However, Pravaig did not disclose the size of the battery, which is expected to be larger than the 100 kWh battery pack.
The EV startup also claims the Defy will deliver 402 horsepower and 620 Nm of peak torque. Power delivery is almost on par with the Volvo XC40 Recharge, Kia EV6 or even the Audi e-tron electric SUV. The manufacturer says the electric SUV has a top speed of 210 km/h and is capable of sprinting from zero to 100 km/h in less than five seconds.
Pravaig said the Defy will feature on-board wifi, a 15-inch laptop desk, a limo divider, 220V outlets for charging devices, air quality index with PM 2.5 air filter, vanity mirror, premium sound system, USB sockets and Wireless charging. The screen will support MirrorLink. It’s important to note, however, that the features of the production-spec electric SUV will be revealed once the vehicle is unveiled.
