Greaves Electric unveils Ampere Primus electric scooter; two more at Auto Expo

Ampere electric scooter maker Greaves Electric is launching an EV offensive at the 2023 Auto Expo. The home-grown EV maker has revealed its brand identity to the world, aiming to make the brand a strong and focused player in the EV segment. In addition to introducing its new logo, the company also unveiled the Ampere Primus electric scooter and showed off two new electric scooters – the NXG and NXU.

The new electric scooters target a different category. Ampere Primus is a high-speed B2C electric scooter for modern millennials. The electric scooter features 3 kWh LFP battery technology and a first-stage smart BMS that complies with AIS 156 standards. The scooter has a top speed of 77 km/h, while it can accelerate from 0-40 km/h in less than 5 seconds.

Ampere Primus gets the high efficiency and high torque of the 4 kW mid-mounted electric motor, which at the same time can provide a single charge range of more than 100 kilometers. The scooter has four riding modes – Eco, City, Power and Reverse. In terms of features, it gets Bluetooth connectivity and navigation via a phone app for convenience.

E-scooters have increased comfort with longer legroom, wider seats, and better rideability. It’s available in four metallic matte colors — Himalayan White, Royal Orange, Havelock Blue, and Buck Black, while the bodyu panel comes in two-tone.

Ampere NXG is a concept electric scooter gaining IoT connectivity, while Ampere NXU is another connected scooter designed for the B2B segment for multiple business applications in the gig economy. It can also be used as a personal car for the family.

Greaves Electric has also launched three electric three-wheelers for passenger and freight transport – Greaves ELP, Greaves ELC and Greaves Aero Vision. Sanjay Behl, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Greaves Electric Mobility Private Limited (GEMPL), said: “We are delighted to introduce the full range of GEMPL’s product portfolio, including six new two- and three-wheel electric vehicles.”
