Hero Karizma XMR 210 design patent reveals new details about motorcycle styling, features and hardware

The design patent reveals a lot about the Hero Karizma XMR 210. Its design language is aggressive, with sharp lines on the side panels. Also notable are the raised clip-on handlebars, split armrests, sporty two-piece seats and stubby exhaust tips. The motorcycle is expected to feature an integrated headlight at the front and LED lighting throughout.

Newly leaked images show the Karizma’s aggressive design, featuring a chiseled front end and sharp side panels. It’s worth noting that the fuel tank looks large, but it also appears to have cuts and creases, and then there’s the two-piece seat. There is also a set of armrests at the back. The bike has been spotted testing multiple times, and a previously leaked image also came from a dealer exclusive event.

The design patent also reveals the lattice frame under the body of the Karizma 210. It will be a first for Hero MotoCorp and will feature a box swingarm. The bike does come with a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear, which really warrants a competitive price tag for the bike. This should give the bike some good cornering prowess, while settings can be tweaked to balance power and comfort, much like the original Karizma. However, the dollar forks are a much better addition to the bike, especially considering the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V is also equipped with them.

Braking performance will come from disc brakes at both ends, with dual-channel ABS likely to be standard. The upcoming bike is also expected to feature a digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and possibly vehicle telematics via a smartphone app.

Power for the Hero Karizma XMR 210 is expected to come from a newly developed 210 cc single cylinder engine. This motor puts out 25-30 horsepower when mated to a 6-speed transmission. As we said, the price will be competitive and probably around $1.70-175,000 (ex-showroom).

Expectations are high for the new Karizma as its nameplate has been heavily recalled in the Indian market. It will also play an important role in driving Hero MotoCorp’s premium two-wheeler business strategy, which began with the Xoom 110 and was followed by the Xtreme 160R 4V. The Karizma XMR 210 will be sold through the company’s new premium 2.0 dealerships and will share the roof with the Harley-Davidson X440, also built by Hero MotoCorp.
