Hero MotoCorp CTO Dr. Arun Jaura told HT Auto on the sidelines of the Xoom launch: “We don’t shy away from cross-deployment technology, generalization and standardization, which serve our customers better with our products. Whether it’s the 110 cc Xoom Customers or premium bike customers, commuter customers. Whatever we can standardize and offer will give our customers an advantage. Of course, it gives us an advantage, it gives an advantage to sustainability, so we’ll continue to do that Do.”

The new feature is called Hero Intelligent Cornering Lights (HICL). Turning lights automatically sense through the gyroscope and accelerometer to sense which side you are going to.

Dr. Jaura explained that in most two-wheelers, the divergence of the light is usually forward from the headlights and there are blind spots. When riding the scooter at high speed and trying to turn the scooter, you can use the cornering lights to avoid these blind spots, the cornering lights provide enough lighting to ensure the safety of you and pedestrians.

With Hero MotoCorp planning to launch many models in 2023, we are likely to have more cornering lights not only on scooters but also on motorcycles. So far, this feature has been mainly used on high-end motorcycles such as the BMW R 1250 GS and Kawasaki Versys 1000.

As Hero develops more premium motorcycles in the 300-400 cc segment, the new cornering lights will be a hit and fit perfectly in the touring segment.
