India’s top two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to launch its first scooter this year. The two-wheeler maker has released the first official teaser of its upcoming 110cc scooter, the Hero Maestro Xoom. The scooter will be unveiled later this month, on January 30. The new scooter is likely to be positioned as the company’s new flagship in the 110cc segment, above the Maestro Edge model. It is likely to count companies such as Honda Activa as one of its competitors.

A teaser video released by Hero MotoCorp reveals some details about the upcoming scooter. The teaser image shows the headlights and front of the Maestro Xoom. It will feature X-shaped LED headlights, turn indicators and X-shaped LED taillights.

The Hero Maestro Xoom could be packed with tons of features. Hero MotoCorp will reportedly offer a new digital instrument cluster. It is expected to come with connectivity as well as Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.

Hero MotoCorp is also expected to offer the Maestro Xoom with 12-inch wheels at both ends. It will be the first scooter from the two-wheeler maker to feature the tires. The Maestro Edge has 12-inch wheels in the front and 10-inch wheels in the rear. Hero MotoCorp is expected to supply alloys with front disc brakes and telescoping forks as the Maestro Xoom’s suspension. It was also available with steel wheels and drum brakes for lower versions of the model.

The scooter will be powered by a 110.9cc engine, the same one that Hero MotoCorp uses for the Maestro Edge and Pleasure Plus models. The engine is capable of producing 8 bhp of maximum power and 8.7 Nm of peak torque.
