Hero MotoCorp has upgraded the Xtreme 160R’s two-valve engine to a four-valve engine. Another big upgrade comes in the form of the inverted fork.

For 2023, the Hero Xtreme 160R gets its biggest update in the form of an improved engine. It now has a four-valve head, while the outgoing head used a two-valve head. This upgrade resulted in the addition of the 4V letter to the nomenclature. This should help improve the performance of the oil-cooled engine and improve the top end. The new 163 cc engine produces a peak power of 16.6 bhp at 8,500 rpm. The duty transmission is a five-speed unit. The manufacturer claims the bike is the lightest oil-cooled model in its class. It is also known as the fastest 160 cc motorcycle in India.

Another big change was the addition of upside-down forks at the front. Until now, motorcycles were equipped with conventional telescopic forks. The USD fork should help give more feedback, helping the bike stay calmer in corners and have a better ride quality. The preload-adjustable rear shocks are unchanged.

Braking duties are handled by 276mm petal discs at the front of the Xtreme 160R 4V, while a choice of 220mm petal discs or 130mm drum brakes are available at the rear. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with chunky 100/80 tubeless tires at the front and 130/70 tubeless tires at the rear.

On the exterior, the new Hero Xtreme 160R 4V features revised, sharper LED headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights. The motorcycle has a sculpted, chunky fuel tank and a sleeker rear end with an ergonomic split seat. It comes in three different color options: Matte Slate Black, Neon Night Star, and Blazing Sport Red. In terms of functionality, a revised digital instrument cluster enhances its premium character. Hero MotoCorp claims the motorcycle has over 25 telematics features. The company claims the bike is equipped with Hero Connect 2.0 with best-in-class features. Hero MotoCorp also offers an extensive range of motorcycle accessories.
