HMSI sold 329,000 units in May

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) reported May sales of 329,393 units, out of which domestic sales were 311,144 units and export sales were 18,249 units. Last month’s sales figures were down slightly from the 374,747 units sold in April. However, the company has high hopes for its new Honda Shine 100 cc commuter bike.

Last month, the company launched the Shine 100 in Rajasthan, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh at a price of ¥62,900. The motorcycle features an OBD2 compliant engine powered by eSP or Enhanced Smart Power and up to 12 new patent applications. It’s also the company’s most affordable motorcycle.

It’s available in five colors – black with red stripe, black with blue stripe, black with green stripe, black with gold stripe, and black with gray stripe. The main competitors of Hero Shine 100 are Hero Splendor Plus and Bajaj Platina 100.

Last month, HMSI also launched a new range of motor oil – ‘Pro Honda’ for its two-wheelers in the country. Apart from this, the company has organized road safety awareness programs in Hyderabad, Lucknow, Vidisha, Firozpur and New Delhi.

As part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, Honda India Foundation (HIF) launched its flagship Project Pragati in Kanpur to support the community by promoting training for economically disadvantaged youth, aiming to provide training for their livelihoods and to To develop a sustainable society.
