During a roundtable meeting with members of the media, Mr. Atsushi Ogata, Managing Director, President and Chief Executive Officer, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India announced that the Activa 7G is not going into production immediately. Instead, Honda will completely update the Activa 6G with new features to keep it competitive in the segment. The Honda Activa 6G will be updated with a digital instrument cluster and connectivity features.
The Activa 6G competes with the Hero Xoom 110 and TVS Jupiter. Both already come with Bluetooth connectivity and a digital instrument cluster. So it does make sense for Honda to add these features to the Activa.The current price of Honda Activa 6G is between ¥74,536 and ¥80,537. Both prices are ex-showroom prices.
Apart from this, Honda also recently updated the Activa 6G with H-Smart technology. It’s essentially a smart key that enables several new functions. The manufacturer claims the scooter has a smart find feature that responds when the user tries to locate it using the key fob. The smart key allows the rider to lock and unlock the scooter without using a physical key. With this smart key, the engine of the scooter can be started when the vehicle is within two meters of the key. It also has an engine start and stop switch.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India recently launched the Shine 100 in the Indian market.This is their most affordable motorcycle in the Indian market starting at ¥64,900. This motorcycle is specially designed for everyday use in urban traffic. It targets rural and semi-urban markets. The motorcycle will compete with motorcycles like the Hero Splendor Plus, Bajaj Platina 100 and TVS Star City Plus.
