The Honda Activa 6G is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable two-wheelers on sale, and the name is synonymous with scooters in this country. While Honda updated the Activa 6G with a bunch of features earlier this year, the scooter’s biggest changes haven’t happened until now. Honda has dropped the 6G suffix from the Activa moniker and the scooter is now badged as the Honda Activa. The update is now reflected on the company’s website.
Honda introduced the “G” suffix to the Activa 110 in 2015 with the Activa 3G. It’s supposed to signify a generational change in the 110 cc scooter and appears on the following 4G, 5G and current 6G models. Now, however, the Japanese two-wheeler giant appears to be looking to simplify the Activa nameplate. The company is already selling the Activa 110 and Activa 125 models, while the Activa electric scooter is rumored to be joining the lineup by the end of this financial year.

Honda is likely aiming to create a new positioning for Activa, which may also be one of the reasons for the rebranding. Product-wise, there are no changes to the scooter other than omitting the 6G logo from the side panels. The model was recently updated with H-Smart technology, which brings features like Smart Find, remote lock/unlock, engine start/stop switch, and keyless ignition.
We also told you about Honda’s plans to further update the Activa at a later date with features like a digital console and Bluetooth connectivity. Former Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) President and CEO – Atsushi Ogata confirmed the development earlier this year, while also confirming that the next refresh of the Activa will not be called ‘Activa 7G’. We think this is because the G suffix was dropped entirely.

The Honda Activa is one of the top monthly selling two-wheelers in India. It has been the best-selling scooter in India for many years. This model features the TVS Jupiter, Hero Maestro Edge, Hero Xoom and Hero Pleasure Plus in the segment.
