Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has recently re-entered the 100 cc commuter market with the Shine 100.The price of this motorcycle is ¥62,900 (ex-showroom, Rajasthan).In comparison, the price of Shine 100 is ¥Other states had 64,900.This makes the Shine 100 cheaper ¥2,000. The Shine 100 is already priced competitively in this segment, as it is an important deciding factor for customers in the market for a commuter motorcycle. The Honda Shine 100 will take on the Bajaj Platina 100, Hero Splendor+ and Hero HF Deluxe.

The brand has launched several Shine 100 offers for customers to take advantage of. There is “100 PE 100”, which is a special introductory financing program for Shine 100.Clients can take advantage of financing options from multiple institutions, with additional benefits such as zero document fees, no prepaid EMIs and processing fees only ¥1. In addition, customers can get a 10-year warranty package, including 3-year standard warranty and 7-year optional extended warranty. These prices and offers are only applicable in Rajasthan, Bihar and Lucknow.

Honda offers the Shine 100 in five color options – black with red stripes, black with blue stripes, black with green stripes, black with gold stripes and black with gray stripes. The design of the Shine 100 is that of a typical commuter motorcycle. There are practical aluminum armrests, halogen headlights, long one-piece seats and alloy wheels.

The Shine 100 uses an all-new 98.98 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. It produces 7.2 bhp at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque output of 8.05 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The duty transmission is a 4 speed unit. The engine may have a small cubic capacity but it is very modern as it has fuel injection and ESP, is OB2 compliant and can also run on E20 fuel. For someone looking for a commuter motorcycle, fuel efficiency is very important. Honda has yet to officially reveal fuel efficiency figures for the Shine 100, although they claim the motorcycle offers “best-in-class mileage.”
