Delhi-based electric two-wheeler startup Hop Electric has launched a new high-speed variant of its Leo electric scooter.The new Hop Leo is priced at ¥97,000 (ex-showroom) and is now available at the company’s Experience Centers across India and online. The high-speed electric scooter has a range of up to 120 kilometers, the company claims.
The Hop Leo uses a 72-volt architecture and a 2.2 kW (2.9 bhp) BLDC in-wheel motor with a peak torque output of 90 Nm. The motor uses a sinusoidal FOC vector controller to ensure easy operation and smooth driving. The High Speed Power product uses a 2.1 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that the company says can charge the battery from 0 to 80 percent in 2.5 hours using an 850-watt smart charger.

The Hop Leo has four riding modes – Eco, Power, Sport and Reverse. It can easily climb a 12-degree slope. The hardware on the electric scooter consists of a telescopic fork at the front and a spring-loaded hydraulic shock absorber at the rear. The Leo rides on 90/90/R10 wheels front and rear with disc brakes at both ends. The model also comes with a combined braking system and regenerative braking.
With a ground clearance of 160mm, the Leo high-speed electric scooter can handle rough roads with ease and has a load capacity of 160kg. The products are all IP 67/65 rated for water and dust protection respectively. There is also an LCD digital console with an optional third-party GPS tracker. The scooter is available in five colors – black, white, grey, blue and red.
