HOP Electric has announced the first over-the-air (OTA) update for the OXO electric motorcycles in its stable. The HOP OXO electric motorcycle went on sale late last year, and the latest VCU firmware OTA (FOTA) version 4.90 brings several improvements to the electric motorcycle. Upgrades include better acceleration in Eco mode, better connectivity and range prediction.

According to HOP Electric, the latest FOTA Ver 4.90 on the OXO electric motorcycle now allows the bike to double its performance under acceleration in Eco mode, even in low speed mode. 4G connectivity is now seamless with an updated network lock, while the battery range display is now more accurate, with better algorithms based on real-time battery health and usage. The company said the update was introduced based on data points customers received after using it.

Commenting on the latest firmware update, Nikhil Bhatia, Co-Founder and COO, HOP Electric Mobility, said, “Electric vehicles are taking the Indian market by storm. The HOP OXO is a 125 cc motorcycle that rivals the Revolt RV400 and Tork Kratos R in this segment. The model draws its energy from a 3.75 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, with an electric motor putting out 6.2 kW (8.2 bhp) and 200 Nm of peak torque. This electric motorcycle can travel 150 kilometers on a single charge. While the latest OTA update doesn’t improve the range in any way, more accurate predictions are certainly a huge welcome.

Other hardware components include telescoping front forks and dual shocks at the rear. Braking performance comes from disc brakes at both ends and a combination brake system. The model also gets regenerative braking for a small boost to range. The OXO has a 5-inch LCD display with on-board telematics. An electric motorcycle can be fully charged in about four hours.
