Hyundai Ioniq 5 gets over 650 pre-orders, deliveries start next month

Hyundai Motor India has received more than 650 reservations for its new flagship Ioniq 5 electric SUV, the company confirmed.The new Hyundai Ioniq 5 entered the Indian market at the Auto Expo 2023 earlier this year with an attractive asking price from the ¥4.495 million (ex-showroom India, presented).

While Hyundai expects the number of reservations to be around 250-300 units, the Ioniq 5 received more demand than expected. The all-electric offering is assembled locally, giving it a significant price advantage over its cousin, the Kia EV6. The model offers a much-loved modern retro design language, while the cabin is roomy and features top-notch quality and sustainable materials. The 12.3-inch dual screen also comes with a modern, up-to-date user interface, while offering plenty of connectivity options.

The Ioniq 5 is based on Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). Power comes from a PMS electric motor mounted on the rear axle, producing 214 bhp of power and 350 Nm of peak torque. Powering the electric motor is a 72.6 kWh battery pack that provides a range of 631 km (ARAI certified) on a single charge. Other features include Level 2 ADAS, a Bose sound system, ventilated seats and dual-zone climate control. The model also comes with six airbags, ABS with EBD, engine parking brake, all four disc brakes, and more.

Additionally, the Ioniq 5 has a Vehicle to Load (V2L) feature that lets you charge home appliances and small devices up to 3 kW. The EV is also equipped with fast charging, with a 10% to 80% charge in 18 minutes using a 350 kW DC fast charger.

Hyundai offers the Ioniq 5 a standard warranty of 3 years/unlimited kilometers, while customers can opt for a 5-year/140,000km extended warranty. The battery warranty is 8 years/160,000 km.
