Hyundai partners with Shell to install fast chargers at 36 dealerships

Hyundai Motor India said on Wednesday it has partnered with Shell India to install 60 kW fast chargers at 36 dealerships in the country. The automaker said in a statement that it had signed a memorandum of agreement with Shell India Markets Pvt Ltd in this regard.

It added that the strategic partnership aims to increase the expansion of battery electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the country. “This strategic partnership is crucial to accelerate customer adoption of electric vehicles to achieve the national goal of carbon neutrality,” said Unsoo Kim, Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India.

Hyundai currently has a network of 72 EV dealerships in 45 cities. Shell India Director Sanjay Varkey said the strategic partnership with Hyundai aims to improve the charging infrastructure for battery electric vehicles in India by providing easy access and dynamic availability to provide a safe, reliable and seamless charging experience.
