After a long wait, the Volvo C40 Recharge has made its debut in India. It comes to China as Volvo’s second pure electric vehicle after the XC40 Recharge, and is an important part of the brand’s 2030 all-electric strategy.

The Volvo C40 Recharge will be available for preorder from August 2023, when the Swedish automaker will reveal its pricing. Deliveries of the EV will start in September, just before the festive season.

The Volvo C40 Recharge is expected to be priced slightly higher than the XC40 Recharge. The price of the XC40 Recharge is ¥5.690 million (ex-showroom), and the C40 Recharge can afford a price tag of approx. ¥6 million (ex-showroom).

The Volvo C40 Recharge features the automaker’s signature styling elements that can be found throughout other contemporary models, including the XC40 Recharge. These elements include Thor’s Hammer LED DRLs integrated into the headlights, vertically oriented LED taillights, and a closed panel located at the front in place of the radiator grille.

The coupe SUV has a sloping roofline that sets it apart from the boxy-looking XC40 Recharge. The powerful stance of the Volvo C40 Recharge conveys a strong road presence.

The Volvo C40 Recharge will be available in six different exterior color options. These color themes are: Crystal White Pearl, Fjord Blue, Fusion Red, Onyx Black, Cloud Blue, and Sage Green.

Once you’re in the cabin, the huge portrait-oriented 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system is complemented by a 13-speaker Harman Kardon music system, which is similar to other Volvos because of the same design.

The car also features a 12.3-inch fully digital driver’s display on the dashboard, showing various information about the EV. There’s also a panoramic sunroof, which enhances the premium feel of the cabin.

The EV has a spacious and comfortable cab with luxurious amenities. As Volvo says, its cars are built on two Ps, one is people, and the comfort inside the car is the top priority.

The Volvo C40 Recharge draws energy from a 78 kWh battery pack, allowing the EV to travel 530 kilometers on a single charge. It has a top speed of 180 km/h and can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds.
