Tech start-up Matter has launched the country’s first geared electric motorcycle, which is heavily invested in technology and designed for use on trails and roads. Built in-house from the ground up, the electric car will be produced at the company’s Ahmedabad factory and will be sold in major cities. Reservations will open soon.
The Matter e-bike features a touch-enabled 7-inch Vehicle Instrument Cluster (VIC) powered by a state-of-the-art processor, 4G connectivity and Android software. The user interface (UI) provides riders with all the information they need, such as speed, gear, ride mode, navigation, media and call controls.

Matter e-bike has touchable 7-inch vehicle instrument cluster (VIC)
This e-bike is powered by an integrated high energy density 5 kWh Power Pack – matterEnergy 1.0. The integrated unit contains the battery pack, battery management system (BMS), drive train unit (DTU), power conversion module and other protection systems. The power pack adopts multiple patented technologies such as Integrated Intelligent Thermal Management System (IITMS).
The on-pack BMS continuously monitors and optimizes the efficiency, safety and reliability of the system. In addition, the Power Pack is equipped with multiple sensors at key locations for regular monitoring of parameters such as temperature, current and voltage.
The electric motorcycle is powered by a HyperShift manual transmission. Its 10.5kW electric motor is paired with a proprietary sequential manual transmission that extends the performance range of the drivetrain.
Matter e-bikes support standard charging and fast charging via a universal connector. The bike is also equipped with an on-board charger matterCharge 1.0, with which the vehicle can be charged anywhere using a 5-amp plug. The car charger can charge the vehicle in less than 5 hours and has overcharge protection.
