iVoomi Energy EV Batteries Receive ARAI Certification Under AIS 156 Amendment

Electric two-wheeler manufacturer iVoomi Energy has announced that its lithium-ion battery pack has received AIS 156 authorization under Amendment III Phase 1 of the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). The company said its batteries meet the necessary safety, protection and performance parameters required for ARAI certification.

According to the AIS 156 amendments announced by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) last year, lithium-ion batteries used in electric two-wheelers need to meet all essential safety specifications, including overcharge protection, additional safety fuses, charger and battery communication and More. The company further stated that it is working towards meeting AIS 156 Amendment Phase 2 certification by April 2023 and will submit the corresponding documents to ARAI this month.

The company produces lithium-ion batteries for its line of electric scooters. iVoomi has a strong presence in Maharashtra and will expand to other domestic markets soon. It is also working on Battery 3.0, its next-generation battery pack that will support IoT real-time performance and battery health monitoring, adhering to government-set guidelines and restrictions.
