Jawa, Yezdi range updated with new tech to meet BS6 Phase 2 norms, price hike

Classic Legends, a subsidiary of Mahindra Group, has announced the update of the Jawa and Yezdi range of motorcycles to the latest BS6 Phase 2 emission standards. The motorcycle has been updated to comply with OBD2 regulations and incorporate new technology for improved rideability and refinement. With the upgrade, the price increases by 0.8-2%, depending on the model. The Jawa series begins with ¥196,000, while Yezdi ranges from ¥210,000 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).

The Jawa motorcycle range, which includes the 42 Sports Stripe, 42 Bobber and Perak, now features larger throttle bodies and exhaust ports for better ride and performance while controlling emissions. The Jawa 42 also benefits from a slip assist clutch and a redesigned muffler for a better exhaust note. The bike now comes standard with an updated digital speedometer and hazard lights.

The Yezdi Roadster, Adventure and Scrambler motorcycles also featured larger throttle bodies and exhaust ports, while the manufacturer added a larger rear sprocket for better low-end performance. The exhaust mufflers have also been redesigned for a better exhaust note.

Talking about the updated range, Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles CEO Ashish Singh Joshi said, “From the very beginning, Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles has prioritized technology to provide consumers with the best possible performance and riding experience. While the move to OBD2 regulations is imminent, But we’ve also bundled a range of improvements across our range of motorcycles, some of which are based on rider feedback. The new motorcycles offer our riders a marked shift in everyday ride, refinement and overall performance. A marginal increase in price makes them Becoming a huge value proposition and a very compelling option.”

There are no cosmetic changes to any of the motorcycles in the lineup. The Jawa 42 and 42 Bobber continued to draw power from a 294.72 cc single cylinder engine, while the Yezdi series used a 334 cc single cylinder engine shared with the Jawa Perak. Jawa and Yezdi bikes are tuned differently. In this segment, these motorcycles compete with offerings from Royal Enfield, Honda, Benelli and others.
