Kabira Mobility KM5000 unveiled, claims longest range for electric two-wheeler

Goa-based electric two-wheeler startup Kabira Mobility has launched its new KM500 electric cruiser, which promises to be the fastest and longest-riding electric motorcycle in India. Kabira Mobility claims the KM5000 has a top speed of 188 km/h and a range of 344 km on a single charge. The price of KM5000 starts from ¥From 315,000 (ex-showroom), deliveries will begin in 2024, the company announced.

Kabira Mobility’s KM5000 electric cruiser sets its sights on the Ultraviolet F77

The KM500 is Kabira Mobility’s new flagship product. The company already retails models such as the KM3000 and KM4000 electric bikes in the market. While the full design isn’t out yet, the teaser images show a retro-modern offering with a round headlamp with integrated LED DRLs. The electric cruiser is single-seater and adopts the shape of electric buoy. The covered bodywork hints at the sharp design that covers the battery pack and electric motor. The bike can also run with wide tires front and rear.

Speaking of which, Kabira Mobility says the electric powertrain, developed in partnership with DeltaEV, is a new patented mid-drive motor. The company hasn’t revealed power figures for the electric motor, aside from a top speed of 188 km/h. The model will also feature an 11.6 kWh LFP battery pack with a range of 344 kilometers. Upon launch, the KM5000 will feature the largest battery pack on any electric two-wheeler in India, a record currently held by the Ultraviolet F77’s 10.5 kWh battery pack.

Other KM5000 features include a 7-inch touchscreen digital console with 4G connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, music controls, in-depth vehicle information, and telematics. The bike will also feature a Showa USD fork and a gas-filled Nitrox rear monoshock. The KM5000 will also feature dual discs at the front and a single disc at the rear for braking duties with dual-channel ABS as standard.

Additionally, Kabira Mobility promises to equip the KM5000 with Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), side steps, saree guards, fast charging, park assist, fall sensors and height stabilizer, among others. The Electric Cruiser will also feature projector headlamps and full LED lighting. Color options will include midnight grey, dark khaki and aquamarine, with customization options also available for the bike, including the brand’s own range of accessories. The KM5000 will be available for sale by the end of this year, Kabira said.
