Kawasaki W175 retro styling

The Kawasaki W175 borrows styling from the W800, which was also sold in India. Both models are heavily inspired by the original W1 and achieve an attractive look with simpler lines. The teardrop-shaped fuel tank, round headlights, and boxy side panels all give the bike a retro feel, while the rear also has round taillights and curved fenders. The model takes its authentic feel further with a peashooter exhaust, one-piece seats, 17-inch spoked wheels and a circular analog instrument cluster with digital readouts.

Kawasaki W175 Chassis and Hardware

The Modern Classic uses a tubular semi-double cradle frame under the bodywork for easy setup. The bike uses a 30mm telescopic fork at the front with 110mm of travel, while the rear uses dual shocks with just 65mm of travel. Braking performance comes from a single 270mm disc at the front and a drum brake unit at the rear. The bike only comes with single-channel ABS, which is disappointing for its price. The seat height is 790mm and the ground clearance is 165mm.

Kawasaki W175 Engine

The W175 is powered by a BS6-compliant 177 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine producing 12.8 bhp at 7,500 rpm and peak torque of 13.2 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The motor is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The bike has a 12-litre fuel tank and has a curb weight of just 135kg. That should make performance interesting, as it’s much lighter than rivals in this segment. That said, the Ronin and Hunter benefit from larger, more torquey engines in comparison.
