KTM has recently revamped its 390 Adventure portfolio for the Indian market. So far, the brand has shown three versions of the adventure wagon, the 390 Adventure, 2023 390 Adventure and 390 Adventure X. In addition to this, the manufacturer is expected to soon introduce a new 390 Adventure V with a lower seat height compared to other models.
Having said that, probably the most exciting option for buyers is the 390 Adventure X, as it is the most affordable version in the range. The motorcycle retains the performance of a standard motorcycle, but lacks a lot of features. Here is a list of features that the 390 Adventure V does not have.
KTM 390 Adventure X: Hardware
All three models use upside-down forks from WP Apex at the front. The 390 Adventure X uses a Big Piston fork, while the 390 Aventure uses an Open Cartridge fork. At the rear, both bikes use a WP Apex monoshock with 10 levels of preload adjustment.

That being said, the 2023 390 Adventure’s suspension hardware is excellent as it features adjustable front and rear units also from WP Apex. Up front, the Open Cartridge fork gets compression and rebound damping with 30 clicks each, while the rear monoshock gets 10 clicks of preload adjustability and 20 clicks of rebound Spring damping adjustability.
KTM 390 Adventure X: Wheels
The 390 Adventure X and 390 Adventure get alloy wheels, while the 2023 390 Adventure gets heavy-duty spoked wheels.
KTM 390 Adventure X: Traction Control and IMU
The 390 Adventure X lacks motorcycle traction control and a 3D IMU. The remaining variants have both functions.
KTM 390 Adventure X: Riding Modes and ABS Modes
The 390 Adventure X doesn’t have a riding mode, while the other two versions have off-road and street modes. In addition to the riding modes, all three motorcycles come with off-road ABS. However, the 390 Adventure X lacks cornering ABS.
KTM 390 Adventure X: Quickshifter+ and slipper clutch
While KTM offers a slipper clutch on all three models, they do not offer a quickshifter on the 390 Adventure X.

KTM 390 Adventure X: Instrument cluster and drive-by-wire
KTM offers ride-by-wire as standard on all three motorcycles. Manufacturers have replaced color TFT screens with LCD units.
