Mahindra launches 50,000th e-Alfa electric three-wheeler at Haridwar factory

Mahindra Last Mile Mobility (LMM), a new division of Mahindra & Mahindra, has announced the launch of the 50,000th e-Alfa electric three-wheeler from its Haridwar factory. Launched in 2017, the e-Alfa electric three-wheeler is one of the best-selling products in the segment and can be used to transport passengers and cargo, with the e-Alfa Cargo due to arrive in 2021. The 50,000th vehicle launched is the Mahindra e-Alfa Mini.

The Mahindra e-Alfa features an all-metal body construction and a lead-acid battery. The electric three-wheeler uses a 1.5 kW motor in both passenger and cargo models, with the latter featuring an optional high-torque gear for improved heavy-duty performance. The range on a single charge is about 80 kilometers.

Commenting on this milestone, Mahindra LMM CEO Suman Mishra said, “The e-rickshaw segment is experiencing tremendous growth and I am delighted to announce that we have rolled out 50,000 e-Alfas. The huge earning potential, Mahindra’s trust and our The proven reliability of electric vehicles makes them the sustainable choice of choice for our customers.”

Mahindra backs the e-Alfa range with a two-year warranty (1 year standard + 1 year extended), while the company also offers driver accident insurance ¥1 million, 24×7 roadside assistance and parking guarantee.With the launch of the 50,000th car, Mahindra dealers are also offering up to ¥7,500 gift items for every e-Alfa Mini sold.

The announcement is the first official announcement under Mahindra LMM, which is responsible for the company’s products specifically built for commercial electric three-wheelers and low-cost four-wheelers.The automaker recently landed an investment ¥6 billion from the World Bank Group’s International Finance Corporation (IFC) into new verticals. Models such as the Alfa, Treo and Zor have been brought under the Mahindra Last Mile Mobility banner.
