Mahindra Racing M9Electro Livery Debuts for 2023 Formula E Season 9

Mahindra Racing has unveiled the third-generation M9Electro livery for the 2023 Formula E World Championship. The single-seater, all-electric race car is now clad in a striking red and copper colour, mimicking Mahindra’s new design direction for electric vehicles. The M9Electro will be driven by a brand new line-up of British racing driver Oliver Rowland and 2016/17 Formula E champion Lucas di Grassi. The team recently announced Jehan Daruvala as its reserve driver for Season 9.

Mahindra Racing’s M9Electro was unveiled during the official pre-season testing in Valencia, Spain. The livery was designed at Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE), marking a close collaboration between MADE and Mahindra Racing UK. Racing Gear is headquartered in Banbury, UK.

Talking about the livery, Mahindra Racing Chairman Asha Kharga said: “I am delighted to unveil our 2023 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship livery in Valencia. The Gen3 livery is inspired by our Born Electric platform design language, Marking the latest global fashion color trend, Copper is combined with the iconic Mahindra Red. Design elements pay homage to Mahindra Racing’s history and our previous successes, while other elements showcase our vision for the Formula E Gen3 era. We are especially delighted To be able to bring our car to India in February to celebrate the inaugural Hyderabad Grand Prix.”

Frederic Bertrand, Mahindra Racing’s new CEO, commented: “I am very excited about the new dawn for Mahindra Racing. Great guys, and two great drivers in Oliver and Lucas.”

Formula E Season 9 will begin on January 14, 2023, with the latest season taking place in up to four new locations. This includes India, where the Hyderabad E-Prix is ​​part of the calendar and is scheduled for next February. With a new driver line-up, team principal and CEO, Mahindra Racing will be restarting for Season 9. This is the only Indian team on track.
