Matter Aera, India’s first variable-speed electric motorcycle, gets 40,000 pre-orders

Matter announced that their electric scooter, the Aera, received 40,000 reservations in less than a month. What makes the Aera special is that it is India’s first variable speed electric motorcycle. The manufacturer is currently accepting pre-orders on its official website and Flipkart. Customers who pre-ordered the Aera will be the first to receive their shipments.

Matter Aera has a 5 kWh battery pack

As of now, Aera will be sold in two models – 5,000 and 5,000+. Both have the same electric motor and battery pack. With a rated power output of 10 kW, it can accelerate from standstill to 60 kmph in 6 seconds. Claimed range The 5 kWh battery pack is rated at 125 kilometers. Speaking of the battery, it can be fully charged in 5 hours, or 2 hours if you use a fast charger. Additionally, it has an IP67 rating and liquid cooling.

Both versions come with a 4-speed manual transmission and four riding modes. Braking duties are performed by disc brakes at the front and rear. Dual-channel ABS is also available. The difference between the variants is the connection technology.
