MG Motor India has officially revealed the price list of the Comet EV. The Comet EV launches in late March, with entry-level prices starting at ¥798,000 (ex-showroom). It’s currently the most affordable EV in the country. The automaker said its smallest EV will be available in three variants called Pace, Play and Plush. Prices for the top-spec version of the Comet EV will start at ¥998,000 (ex-showroom).
The MG Comet EV is available in three monochrome options – White, Black and Silver. The Comet EV is also available in two two-tone options – black with a green roof and black with a white roof.
The MG Comet EV is the second all-electric model from MG Motor India. Its first electric car, the ZS EV, debuted in 2020. The Comet EV will be part of the entry-level EV segment in India. It will rival the Tata Tiago EV and Citroen eC3 electric hatchback.
The MG Comet EV is a two-door, four-seater model. According to MG Motor, the Comet EV will make it ideal for daily urban commuting. It is the smallest pure electric vehicle in the country, measuring less than 3 meters in length, 1,640 mm in height and 1,505 mm in width. The EV rides on 12-inch steel wheels and has a wheelbase of 2,010 mm.
The boxy Comet EV might not appeal to everyone as a serious car. However, the automaker has packed enough features inside to grab attention. It offers two 10.25-inch screens – one is the main infotainment display, which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in addition to various third-party apps. The driver display is fully digital. There’s no dashboard, but there’s plenty of storage space around the car, including two bag hooks. There’s a rotary dial for steering the vehicle, and the two-spoke steering wheel houses controls inspired by the iPods of yesteryear.

The EV also offers three driving modes including Eco, Normal and Sport.
