After announcing the introductory price ¥The Comet EV base model is priced at Rs 7.98 lakh and MG Motor India will announce the pricing for the full range tomorrow, May 5, 2023. The MG Comet EV is currently the most affordable EV on sale, below the Tata Tiago EV and Citroen E-C3. The automaker only revealed the starting price last month, while prices for higher variants with all the bells and whistles have been kept under wraps.
The MG Comet EV is a two-door, five-seater electric vehicle that promises to be a compact solution for congested urban environments. The EV is less than 3 meters long, has a 17.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and prismatic cells, and can travel 230 kilometers on a single charge. Three driving modes are available – Eco, Normal and Sport. Power comes from a single PMS electric motor mounted on the rear axle, producing 41 bhp of power and 110 Nm of peak torque.

The Comet EV is mounted on the functional front and contains several features, including two 10.25-inch screens for the digital console and infotainment system. This model comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Apple iPod-inspired steering wheel controls, manual air conditioning, plenty of storage options, and more. The car also comes preloaded with connectivity technology and several third-party apps.

The MG Comet EV stands out for its boxy proportions and compact dimensions, which make it quite different from what we’ve seen on Indian roads before. That said, the short length also affects trunk capacity as well as rear seat access. MG Motor India will start accepting Comet bookings from May 15.
