Earlier this month, the automaker revealed that the electric vehicle, the smallest in the segment, will be offered in three variants called Pace, Play and Plush. Prices for the top-spec version of the Comet EV will start at ¥998,000 (ex-showroom).

The MG Comet EV starts at Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the most affordable electric car you can buy in India right now.

The promotional price for the Comet EV is only valid for the first 5,000 pre-orders. After that, MG is expected to increase the price of electric vehicles.next ¥800,000, Comet EV is lower than Tata Tiago EV by more than ¥70,000.

To book the MG Comet EV online, one needs to visit the official website of MG Motor India. It is possible to select the “Ebook Your MG” option and choose the Comet EV variant. The reservation amount can be paid online.

For the first time, MG Motor will give Comet EV buyers the option to track their bookings. Using the tracking feature in the MyMG app, MG Motor will provide real-time updates on Unit 1 books. People will be able to track the update from the manufacturing plant until it reaches dealerships and is ready for delivery. MG Motor said this will provide a more transparent car buying experience. The automaker said the delivery process will take place in stages starting May 22.

MG Comet EV is a two-door, four-seater model and the smallest pure electric vehicle in China. It is just under 3 meters long, 1,640 mm high, 1,505 mm wide and has a wheelbase of 2,010 mm. MG offers the Comet EV with 12-inch steel wheels.

The MG Comet EV will be equipped with a 17.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The battery has an IP67 rating and comes with an eight-year or 120,000km warranty. MG promises that the EV will have a range of 230 kilometers on a single charge. The Comet EV is powered by a separate electric motor mounted on the rear axle. It can produce up to 41 hp and 110 Nm of peak torque. The Comet EV has a top speed of 100 km/h. The EV also offers three driving modes including Eco, Normal and Sport.
