MG Motor India will launch its new affordable compact electric vehicle on April 19. It will be called the MG Comet and the manufacturer has been releasing new teasers for the EV. The latest teaser for the MG EV showcases its digital key. The MG Comet EV will compete with the Tata Tiago EV and Citroen E:C3 in the Indian market.
The smart key is square and has three buttons to lock, unlock and open the tailgate. Interestingly, there are no visible slots to put a keychain in. In addition to this, the Comet EV will also be equipped with a digital key that allows the owner to share the vehicle with others.
In terms of features, MG has shown off the connected dual 10.25-inch screens. There’s a digital instrument cluster that displays various information to the driver, while another is a touchscreen infotainment system. The steering wheel will be a multifunctional unit with Apple iPod-like buttons and a double-spoke design. The gear selector will be centrally located and have a knurled finish.

The MG Comet EV is essentially a compact electric vehicle designed for urban use. It has very compact dimensions and should easily drive around the city and perform everyday chores. It has a lot of features that make it and have decent power and range.

According to reports, the MG Comet EV will be equipped with a 17.3 kWh battery pack and is expected to have a cruising range of about 250 kilometers on a single charge. The electric car may also come with two driving modes – Normal and Sport. The top speed of the Comet EV may be limited to 100 km/h.
