MG Comet EV is officially launched in India and is the most affordable electric car in the market at the moment ¥798 thousand (ex-showroom and presentation). The two-door, four-seater all-electric vehicle is MG Motor India’s second EV after the ZS EV. But while the ZS EV is positioned as a high-end SUV, the Comet EV is an urban mobility option for small families.
The Comet EV will stand in stark contrast to the Tata Tiago EV, which is by far the most affordable EV on the market. Despite the many differences between the two vehicles in terms of battery, range, body type and size, both will vie for the interest of potential buyers at the price points they each offer.

What is the pricing structure for the Tiago EV?
Tiago EV offers seven wide-ranging trims, priced starting at Tiago EV XE MR ¥869 thousand (ex-showroom) and rising to ¥1.199 million (ex-showroom) for Tiago EV Tech Lux LR with 7.2 kW charger.There is also a Tiago EV XZ+ LR model with a 7.2 kW charger, priced at ¥1.149 million (ex-showroom).

What is the pricing structure of the MG Comet EV?
The MG Comet EV is priced at ¥798,000 (ex-showroom). It’s only available in one variant, though accessories and graphics cost extra.
While the Tiago EV is a pricier car compared to the Comet EV, it also has a larger battery and better range per charge, approaching 300km (supposedly). However, the Comet EV is a compact vehicle, less than three meters long, positioned as an option for everyday urban commuting. The Comet EV has a range of 230 kilometers.
