MG Motor India will be participating in Auto Expo 2023 and they will be showcasing multiple products at their pavilion. This is not the first time MG has participated in an expo, the manufacturer also participated in Auto Expo 2020. One of the main attractions for the manufacturer will be the MG4 EV hatchback that the manufacturer will be showcasing. Now, the brand has released a new teaser of the MG4 EV on its social media.
MG is already selling the MG4 EV in global markets. The electric hatchback is based on the brand’s Modular Scalable Platform (MSP), which belongs to MG’s parent company SAIC Motor. The platform is purpose-built for electric vehicles. In terms of size, the MG 4 EV is 4,287mm long and has a wheelbase of 2,705mm. The dimensions are a bit smaller than the MG ZS EV sold in India. However, considering the MG4 EV is based on an inherently electric platform, the interior space may be the same.
The MG4 EV is sold with either a 51 kWh or 64 kWh battery pack. Depending on the battery pack, the range on a single charge is up to 450 kilometers. The 64 kWh battery pack can be charged from 10% to 80% in 35 minutes using a fast charger.
The PMS motor is mounted on the rear axle. It produces 201 hp and 250 Nm of peak torque. The MG4 EV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and has a top speed of 160 km/h.
The electric hatchback is packed with features such as a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charger, multifunction steering wheel, automatic climate control and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system running on iSmart UI. Connected car technology and advanced driver assistance systems are also available.
