MG unveiled the Cyberster electric roadster in concept form back in 2020 before unveiling it at the Shanghai Auto Show. Now, the brand has finally revealed a production-spec version of the Cyberster in the UK. It costs around £50,000 and will go on sale around August this year. As of now, MG does not have any plans to launch Cyberster in the Indian market. They are currently selling Comet EV and ZS EV in India.

The MG Cyberster is expected to offer two powertrains.

MG is known for classic roadsters like the T-Series, MGA, MGB and even the F in the 1990s. However, Cyberster doesn’t seem to get any elements from these vehicles. Instead, it looks like a proper modern sports car with an open top. The Cyberster has a long hood, scissor doors, aggressive bumpers and a clean side profile. Most eye-catching, though, are the arrow-shaped LED taillights, which feature a light bar that spans the width of the vehicle. The LED headlights, on the other hand, look a bit Porsche-inspired.

Dimensions-wise, the MG Cyberster EV is 4,535mm long, 1,913mm wide and 1,329mm high. The purely electric sports car has a wheelbase of 2,690 millimetres. Those size figures make the MG Cyberster a bit larger than the 2023 Mazda MX-5 Miata. The MG Cyberster has a curb weight of 1,985kg or 1,850kg, depending on whether the user opts for the dual-motor or single-motor version respectively.

The MG Cyberster EV promises a top speed of 200km/h. The electric motor mounted on the front axle will produce a peak power of 201 horsepower, while the electric motor mounted on the rear axle will be able to output a maximum power of 335 horsepower. As of now, the battery size has not been revealed. However, expect to borrow the 64 kWh battery pack from the MG4 EV already on sale in global markets. The electric crossover is also on display at the 2023 Auto Expo.
