After recently launching accessory kits for the H’ness CB350 and CB350 RS, Honda is now gearing up to focus on the 100 cc segment with its new motorcycle that will be launched in India on March 15. The upcoming new 100 cc motorcycle is likely to be named the Honda Shine 100 as the company hopes to capitalize on the success of the Shine nomenclature. In fact, the trailer’s tagline is “The Future That Shines.” Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Ltd (HMSI) has teased the motorcycle online through a cryptic image.
Apart from the Hero Splendor, India’s best-selling motorcycle series, this upcoming Honda motorcycle will also challenge the Hero HF100 along with the Bajaj Platina 100 and CT100. The upcoming 100 cc Honda motorcycle is expected to receive a front profile similar to the Shine 125. If the cryptic image is an accurate depiction of what’s to come, it could be fitted with alloy wheels, telescoping front forks and twin dampers at the rear.

The teaser image hints that the motorcycle will feature a bikini fairing with a small raised V-shaped section in the center, a design concept very similar to the current Shine. The mirrors look very sleek in the images, but the bike appears more straightforward than the 125 cc Shine in its long, flat, one-piece seat with a step in the middle. In addition, it can be equipped with red paint with white decals and blue with white stripes in color options.
Honda hasn’t revealed any details about the motorcycle’s specs or pricing yet.However, its price can range between ¥60,000 and ¥70,000 (ex-showroom), which will help HMSI better compare the upcoming 100 cc motorcycle to the Hero Splendor. In terms of engines, the upcoming Honda motorcycle will be equipped with a 100 cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine that complies with RDE and E20 fuel standards, in line with the latest regulations.
