Okinawa Autotech has announced a new extended warranty program for its range of electric vehicles. The new program has been announced in partnership with US business services firm Assurant Inc.Extended warranties up to two years, priced from ¥2,287, and rises to ¥5,494, depending on the model.
The new extended warranty program will cover key powertrain components such as traction motors, controllers, DC-DC converters and chargers. Okinawa says it is the first company to offer a warranty on wiring harnesses and frame components. The extended warranty is not only available to new customers, but also to existing customers who have purchased vehicles within the past three years.

Okinawa will provide extended warranty service through more than 540 stores nationwide. Partnering with Assurant Inc. has made the claims process “faster, simpler and easier,” the company said.
Okinawa recently announced a new R&D center in partnership with Tacita. The company also teased its upcoming electric cruiser, which is due to arrive later this year.
