Aside from the new color options, there are no changes to the mechanicals of the Okinawa e-scooters. The PraisePro comes with full LED lighting, e-ABS with regenerative braking, digital console, USB charging port, walk assist and 3-4 hours of charging time with a top speed of 56km/h. The company claims the Praise Pro will cost just 14 paise per kilometer to run. Meanwhile, the Okinawa iPraise Plus promises a range of 137 kilometers on a single charge.

That said, Okinawa is one of many EV makers the central government is investigating for misappropriating subsidies under the FAME program. Subsidies for e-scooters in Okinawa are currently suspended, and the government is considering withdrawing improperly applied for subsidies as part of further action. Okinawa though insists it has complied with all the norms of the subsidy and passed it on to customers in advance.

In addition to Okinawa, other OEMs under investigation for misappropriating subsidies include Hero Electric, Benling, Okaya, Jitendra New EV, Greaves Electric Mobility, Revolt Intellicorp, Avon Cycles, Lohia Auto, Kinetic Green Energy, etc.

Okinawa recently produced its 250,000th vehicle, a production milestone in about six years since the launch of the Ridge electric scooter in 2017. Okinawa has more than 540 3S contact points nationwide.
